The Youth Coalition Against Cancer (YOCAC) of Nigeria Cancer Society in collaboration with Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) and Nigerian medical association (NMA), had a walk to commemorate the 2025 WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY on Friday 30 May, 2025.

Tobacco use remains a leading cause of preventable deaths in Nigeria, contributing significantly to the rising burden of cancer, cardiovascular diseases, and respiratory illnesses. According to the World Health Organization, tobacco kills over 8 million people annually, with low- and middle-income countries like Nigeria bearing a disproportionate burden.
The youth coalition against cancer (YOCAC) of Nigeria cancer society in collaboration with Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria (MWAN) and Nigerian medical association (NMA), had a walk to commemorate the 2025 WORLD NO TOBACCO DAY to raise awareness about the devastating health impacts of tobacco use, promote cessation, and advocate for stronger anti-tobacco policies.
