Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria

BUSINESS HOUR
Mon-Sat: 9am-4pm

The Abia State branch was inaugurated in year 2000. The inaugural president was Dr. Mrs. Princess
Campbell. However, leadership vacuum existed in 2008 following the inability of the president-elect
after Dr Mrs. Ihuoma Ukpabi to take-over leadership. The association became inactive between 2008
and 2011. The national leadership under Dr Mrs. Nma Nwokocha Mni in 2011 began moves to revive the
branch through Dr Ejiro Carol Iwuoha and at the Abakaliki NEC meeting in January 2012, the branch
was reintegrated into MWAN by the national president, Dr. Princess Campbell with Dr Iwuoha as state
president.
Under the leadership of Dr Mrs Uche Chika, MWAN Abia State hosted the December 2019 NEC
meeting and commenced the development of her secretariat building. The project is presently at the
first-floor deck. The current president is Dr Mrs. Patricia Ejikem
