MWAN Kebbi State chapter was inaugurated in May 2016; with Dr AISHA Nana Adamu, a renowned
gynecologist, as the pioneer president. Since the inauguration we have been blessed to have as first
lady an MWAN member in person of Dr. ZAINAB Shinkafi Bagudu, member of the board of directors
UICC, founder, Medicaid Foundation and a passionate neonatologist. The present state president is
DR AMINA Lawal Bello. As of 2023, We have about 25 registered members.
We have been involved in organizing town hall meetings which provide the opportunity to carryout
community diagnosis, maternal and child health advocacy and free health outreaches. MWAN in
collaboration with the office of the first lady, is running the Kawara Youth recreational center, where our
head office is now located. We are looking forward to more opportunities to seat with women from the
remaining LGAs and serve as advocators to the government on the challenges faced by each
community via our community diagnosis
