MWAN-AKS Champions Breastfeeding Awareness with IOM MEGA WALK in Uyo

To herald the 2025 World Breastfeeding Week (August 1–7), the Medical Women’s Association of Nigeria – Akwa Ibom State Branch (MWAN-AKS) joined partners and supporters for the IOM MEGA WALK held in Uyo on August 1, 2025.

The walk aligns with this year’s campaign focus: “Prioritize Breastfeeding: A Lifeline Against Postpartum Hemorrhage” ,aimed at raising public awareness on the vital role of breastfeeding in preventing postpartum complications and promoting maternal-child health.

MWAN-AKS remains at the forefront of this advocacy, working to build sustainable support systems for breastfeeding mothers across the state.
