World Breastfeeding Week (WBW), commemorated annually from August 1 to 7, celebrates the vital role of breastfeeding in promoting child survival, health, and development.

This year MWAN Delta joins the global community to emphasize that:

• Oxytocin Released During Breastfeeding Promotes Uterine Contraction, Helping Prevent PPH.
• Early Initiation of Breastfeeding Within One Hour of Birth is Critical.
• Exclusive Breastfeeding for the First Six Months Saves Lives.
• Optimal Breastfeeding Practices Are Essential for Lifelong Health and Development.
• Supportive Environments at Home, Workplaces, and Health Facilities Are Crucial For Successful Breastfeeding.
