MWAN,ANAMBRA STATE LAST  QUATER REPORT 2024.

1…. Reporting period October to December,2024.

2… *Participation at National and International Events.

(A) At the National level,we celebrated the pink October( Breast cancer awareness programme).

*4th NEC meeting (virtual)with the theme “Entrepreneurship”.

*Webinar on Alternative stream of income and the unveiling of MWAN Business HUB.

*The state president joined other president  as demanded by the National body and made video to support the movement of  Abuse against women and girls .

(B).. At International Level . *We celebrated 2024,International Aldoleseent health week  with the theme. ..” *thriving not just surviving ,building Adolescent Resilience”.

*2024 ,International day for the girl child.with the theme “Girls Vision for future ,Raise a girl child,Raise a Nation.

*2024,World Pneumonia Day.

(3) State Level Collaborations / partnership 

*Pink October was done in collaboration with Eldorado multi specialist  hospital,Awka.

*A diagnostic Lab at Awka partnered with MWAN, Anambra State to do the Breast cancer screening at subsidized rate.

*Pink walk was done in collaboration with Swift Medics Company and the second day with Wife of State Governor foundation( Nonye Soludo Healthy living Foundation ,Awka.

*Absolute Life Empowerment Foundation collaborated with MWAN,Anambra to mark the international Adolescent Health week on seven(7) public schools in the state..

*MWAN,Anambra State collaborated with MWAN National outreach committee AND Maiden Health Care  Foundation to celebrate school health outreach in two secondary schools in Anambra State.

*MWAN,Anambra State in collaboration with PAN( paediatrics association of Nigeria) and Maternal child health(MCH) National to mark the world pneumonia day.

(4).. *State Activities and projects towards National vision.

We have different committees that help to carry out our various events..Thus, *Welfare committee. *Maternal child health committee. *Oral and dental committee.. *YDF coordinator.

**Events  hosted with dates and Venue 

(1).. *1st Oct to 3Oth October,2024.( Breast cancer screening).We had free mammogram at Eldorado multi specialist hospital,Awka.About 70 women from 40 yrs  above were screened for Breast CA.Their report was confidentially sent to them individually and those that need extra attention were referred to gynaecologist for expert management.

(Ii). *7th to 13th October 2024. MWAN,Anambra visited 7 different secondary schools to mark the international Adolescent Health week.We had Adolescent wellness Summitt and Essay competition at Young people’s development centre,Nnewi.

Over 200 Adolescent graced the final activity and submitted more than hundred  essay for the competition. *Partook in games. *Received Health and Empowerment talk. *Prizes of Lap top for 1st prize. 2nd prize( a term sch fees). 3rd prize ( 7 slots  for computer training priced at thirty thousand naira each)..

(Iii)… 11th Oct 2024,International day for girl child at Jose Maria Academy Awka.It was a YDF activity.

(IV). 8th Nov 2024 MWAN,Anambra continued work of mentoring and supporting our female medical student at the South East NAUMSA Regional Convention held at Chukwuemeka Odimegwu Ojukwu teaching hospital(COOUTH).Awka.

(V).. 21st Nov 2024 School Health Outreach at Tender Touch international school,Awka.and at Gran Hermano Academy , Awka.The student were lectured on personal, and environment hygiene,Sexually transmitted diseases  and Peer pressure effect.

(Vi). 7th Dec,2024  MWAN,Anambra attended the 16th day Activist against Gender based violence webinar done virtually for Health workers.

(Vii).. 8th Dec 2024 We had our end of year party/ widow’s outreach flag off.

*AGM for 2024. .*Secretariat report for the year 2024. *Financial report of the state for 2024. It was well attended by elders,seniors ,young doctors,female medical students,friends/ families  and our male colleagues.We had games and danced to end the year activity.

**Widows / Very Indigent peoples outreach They were gifted with Rice,groundnut oil and sachet tomato. A total of 32 people were attended to with the gift packs.

(6) Upcoming / Next quarter Events.

*New year messages to our sisters and to all sundry.

*Medical outreach at Umuoji town Anambra state.on Jan 2nd,2025.

*NEC meeting at plateau,Jos.

(7). MOST OUTSTANDING ACTIVITY 2024.* 

The widow’s / indigent outreach.It was a vision we had at the beginning of the Biennum as work of charity to end the year and it came thru for us. The support was massive from both members and our male colleagues.
